Finished project feelings

I feel that me and my group did good with our project and I feel confident on how we did.  Some challenges we faced were the days to film and the timing of the film. We also faced some problems with the camera equipment. So we asked Zoe’s dad for the equipment which we provided and for the filming part we decided to split the days We have changed some of the things like the ending, some training scenes and some fight scenes but everything else has stayed the same We learned much more about how cameras work and Zoe and Twyla learned more about ronin and Japanese culture while I already knew most of it I used a lot of camera shots that I’ve learned in class like close ups and far shots. I also have did some angles and editing skills

Editing post 2

Our editing is going very well. Everyone is doing their part and we have done a good amount to time editing like 5 hours. We haven’t done any additional filming we’ve pretty much got all we needed We have mainly used cap cut during our editing but as you can see we are pretty much done and we couldn’t get any photos of us editing in person

Updated story board blog post

Image
We made a couple of changes to our story board cause of the amount of people we had the environment and stuff like that made us change our storyboard just a bit but not a lot. We’ve changed things like the training scenes, the battle scenes and the final ending

Lighting Blog post

We used a lot of natural lighting as it was a good day for the lighting like the grass, the blue sky and they all felt like a nice detail to the movie and played a big part because of the kind of film we were doing.  It helped contribute to the film because it helped you understand what environment we are in and how it feels to be in this area which turns peaceful and then becomes deadly We are so far editing some of our lighting but we are using mostly the natural lighting.

Group Dynamics Blog Post

It has been going very well we are just editing the rest of the film. It also has been fun doing it with my group it was definitely fun to to do it with them.  And yes everyone is pulling there weight which makes it a lot easier. Like me, Twyla and Zoe have all been pulling our weights for this assignments as we all want a good grade. Personally I have felt most challenged by the dates of filming because of the things I have going on like boxing, track and basketball but that was probably the main issue.

Title Sequence Blog post

So our title sequence helps introduce the characters and kind of sets the setting. The font we use is a white color and and type of Italic style and a average size font to be included in most parts of our titles. We arrived at these decisions because we thought personally it would be best to have a relaxing intro to the film some visuals would be the sky and grass we chose those to symbolize friendship peace and realization in our film this helped us set the atmosphere.

Challenges in Filming Blog post

So far the challenges have been just us having a limited amount amount of people but we make up for that with having good equipment like tripods and phone stuff like that. And yeah everyone is pulling there own weight Twyla is mainly helping us with the filming when she's not on screen which is most of the time, Zoe is providing us with the tools and I'm helping us direct what to do so it is easier for us.

Filming blog post

On our first day of filming we had a lot of fun. We shot so far a good 1/4 of the movie in this day because of time limitations. The sound and video went pretty well were going to edit the whole thing once it is all done and we have already re done the shots that we need to. The rest of the schedule will probably be on March 11th and March 12th after school to finish it off.

Sound blog post

In the film we use both diegetic and non diegetic sounds. We use these sounds to express the atmosphere in many scenes. In the scenes we use diegetic sounds we use the wind and a lot of walking on grass sounds. We also use sounds of the props colliding together as we use bow staffs colliding. A lot of the time it was Zoe and Twyla filming while I was making the sounds like walking on the grass or our staffs colliding. Now for the diegetic sounds we don't exactly use music that can be copyrighted like actual songs we use more songs that will be relaxing that will be relaxing like a lot of songs you would use while meditating and stuff like that. So most of the time we use those sounds and then at the end we use sad and serious sounds. We are all editing the sounds of capcut also so it would be a bit easier.  We are all doing the sounds equally no one is really doing more than the other.

Color use blog post

Our project uses a lot of color especially green for the landscape and a lot of blue sky can be seen and our outfits have a lot of dark colors like brown and black. And a lot of our props have like bleakish and brownish colors too our katana has a black color and our bow staffs have a brownish, light brownish kind of color. The only light colors we have our light blue from the sky and green from the grass and everything else is a darkish color.

Representation blog post

What is represented in our film is two ronin who train with their sensei to get ready for a battle. It is very fair and stereotypical of a average samurai movie. We are challenging the representation of a friendship and how fast it can change due to one event. I don't think we need any improvements to our characters editing wise.

Supporting character analysis blog post

Supporting character Master Sifu: The sensei in the story, 5'6, wears a black ronin robe and has braids. She does not use any of the weapons but sometimes holds them. She is serious and uses her loud voice to insert her wiseness into her younglings. Her mental state is serious the entire time and her motive is to make their younglings ready for battle.
